- Before we begin it's easier if we first get the the paste/chutneys ready.
- For green chutney grind garlic cloves Ginger green chilli and coriander and make a thick paste.
- To make the red chutney we first have to soak in the coriander seeds and red chillies for couple of hours and then grind it in the mixer. The first photo is an old one and the quantity is less. I'm using it here for reference.
- Now make the onion tomato puree. Grind onion and tomato together in a mixer and make a paste
- Now let's make the koftas. For that grind the prawns in a mixer. Do not make a fine paste. Add 2 tablespoon of green chutney to the praws mixture. Also add turmeric. red chilli powder and salt and mix well. As shown in the second picture, now keep aside 1 tablespoon of this mixture for the curry. To the rest of the mixture Add one or two tablespoon of corn flour and mix well
- Now to fry the mixture into koftas balls - Take a kadhai for deep frying. Heat oil in it. The prawns mixture is little sticky and it is difficult to make round balls so here you take a teaspoon of the mixture and release it in the kadai for frying. Once the koftas are fried, we move to making the curry
- For curry, heat 3 tablespoon of oil in a pan. Add the onion tomato paste in it and mix well. Try this paste for 2 minutes and immediately add green chilli paste red chilli paste and the one tablespoon of prawns mixture. Add one tablespoon of garam masala. And salt to taste. Fry this paste well for the next 5 mins and close the lid.
- Next add a two glasses of water. Close the pan lid and let it boil for another 5 mins. Cook this on a medium flame
- For coconut milk you can either buy directly from the store or you can prepare it from a grated coconut. All you have to do is grind the grated coconut in a mixer with good amount of water and then strain the mixture to get the coconut milk.

Turn to Food to Improve Your Mood
Mostly, people have been trained to think that “comfort” foods are not good for the body and need to be avoided. If your comfort food is candy or junk food this is true. Otherwise, comfort foods can be super nutritious and good for you. There are some foods that basically can raise your moods when you eat them. If you feel a little bit down and you need an emotional pick me up, try several of these.
Eggs, believe it or not, can be actually wonderful at dealing with depression. Just be sure that you don’t throw away the egg yolk. When you would like to cheer yourself up, the yolk is the most crucial part of the egg. Eggs, the yolk particularly, are high in B vitamins. B vitamins can really help you raise your mood. This is because these vitamins improve the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that tell you how to feel). Eat a couple of eggs to cheer up!
Put together a few trail mix of nuts or seeds. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etcetera are all fantastic for helping to raise your mood. This is because these foods are high in magnesium, which helps to raise serotonin production. Serotonin is a feel-good chemical substance that tells the brain how to feel at any given point in time. The more of it in your brain, the better you’ll feel. Not only that, nuts, specifically, are a terrific source of protein.
Cold water fish are great if you would like to feel happier. Salmon, herring, tuna fish, mackerel, trout, and so on, they’re all loaded with omega-3s and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that really help the grey matter in your brain function a lot better. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can actually help you fight back depression.
Some grains are really great for fighting off bad moods. Quinoa, barley, teff, millet, etc are all good for helping you feel better. These grains fill you up better and that can help improve your moods as well. It’s easy to feel low when you feel famished! The reason these grains are so great for your mood is that they are not difficult for your stomach to digest. They are easier to digest than other foods which helps raise your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.
Green tea is truly excellent for your mood. You were sure green tea had to be mentioned, right? Green tea is loaded with a particular amino acid known as L-theanine. Research has discovered that this amino acid promotes the production of brain waves. This helps improve your mental sharpness while having a relaxing effect on the rest of your body. You were already aware that that green tea helps you become better. Now you know that green tea can improve your mood too!
Now you can see that junk food isn’t necessarily what you need to eat when you wish to help your moods get better. Try a couple of of these tips instead.
