If you feel a little bit down and you’re in need of a happiness pick me up, try a few of these.
Eggs, you may be surprised to learn, are terrific at battling depression. You should be sure, though, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The yolk is the most essential part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping raise your mood. Eggs, the egg yolk in particular, are stuffed full of B vitamins. These B vitamins are fantastic for helping to boost your mood. This is because the B vitamins help your neural transmitters–the parts of your brain that affect your mood–function better. Try consuming a few eggs to jolly up!
Put together a trail mixfrom a variety of seeds and nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etc are all terrific for helping to raise your mood. This is because these nuts are loaded with magnesium, which helps to raise serotonin production. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical substance that directs your brain how you feel at all times. The more of it you have, the better you are going to feel. Not just that but nuts, particularly, are a terrific protein source.
If you want to defeat depression, try consuming some cold water fish. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3s. These are two substances that increase the quality and function of the gray matter in your brain. It’s true: chomping on a tuna fish sandwich can really help you fight depression.
It’s not hard to overcome your bad mood when you eat grains. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all really great for helping increase your happiness levels. They help you feel full too which can truly help to make your mood better. It’s not hard to feel a little bit off when you are starving! These grains can help your mood elevate as it’s not at all difficult for your body to digest them. You digest these foods more quickly than other foods which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel happier, mood wise.
Your mood can truly be helped by green tea. You were simply waiting to read that here, weren’t you? Green tea is rich in a specific amino acid called L-theanine.
