If you seem to feel a little bit down and need a happiness pick me up, try a couple of these.
Eggs, you may be amazed to discover, are fantastic at fighting depression. You need to make sure, however, that what you make includes the yolk. The egg yolk is the part of the egg that is the most important in terms of helping elevate your mood. Eggs, the yolks especially, are loaded with B vitamins. These B vitamins are great for helping to boost your mood. This is because these vitamins increase the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that tell you how to feel). Consume an egg and cheer up!
Build a trail mix from seeds and/or nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etcetera are all fantastic for helping to boost your mood. This is because these foods are high in magnesium, which helps to increase serotonin levels. Serotonin is referred to as the “feel good” chemical and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more of it you have, the more pleasant you are going to feel. Not just that but nuts, particularly, are a fantastic protein food source.
If you want to battle depression, try consuming some cold water fish. Salmon, herring, tuna fish, mackerel, trout, etcetera, they’re all high in omega-3 and DHA. These are two substances that promote the quality and function of the grey matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can greatly boost your mood.
Some grains are really great for driving away bad moods. Quinoa, barley, millet, etc are terrific at helping you feel happier. These grains fill you up better and that can help you with your moods too. Feeling starved can really bring you down! These grains can elevate your mood since it’s not at all difficult for your body to digest them. These foods are easier to digest than others which helps promote a rise in your sugar levels which in turn kicks up your mood to a happier place.
Green tea is really great for your mood. You were just anticipating to read that, weren’t you? Green tea has a lot of an amino acid referred to as L-theanine.
