Steps to make Matcha Cookies:
  1. Prepare a cup of whisked matcha. You can make it from tea leaves too. See recipe below: - - https://cookpad.com/us/recipes/146794-diy-matcha-tea-powder-from-tea-leaves
  2. Combine the margarine (brought to room temperature), sugar, beaten egg and condensed milk in that order, mixing well between additions.
  3. Sift the cake flour into the batter and fold it in with a spatula. When it's crumbly, break the chocolate and mix in. Bring the dough together with your hands.
  4. If the dough won't come together, add a little milk. If the dough is too soft, add a bit of flour to adjust.
  5. Cover in plastic wrap and form into a log. Freeze for at least 30 minutes, or until it becomes easy to slice.
  6. Slice the dough into 5 mm thick slices. Bake in a preheated 170°C oven for about 15 minutes. Adjust the baking time to your oven.
  7. The cookies are done when they are very lightly browned. Take the cookies out of the oven and let them cool down. I used two pieces of strawberry white chocolate in the dough this time.
  8. You can freeze the leftover egg white by double-wrapping it (make sure that no air bubbles get trapped inside). You can make a meringue with frozen egg whites quickly and it turns out quite shiny too.

Learn How to Improve Your Mood with Food

Many of us believe that comfort foods are terrible for us and that we need to stay away from them. If your comfort food is candy or junk food this can be true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be altogether nutritious and it’s good for you to eat them. There are some foods that really can raise your moods when you eat them. When you feel a little down and are in need of an emotional pick-me-up, test out a few of these.

Eggs, would you believe, are great for helping you combat depression. You need to make sure, though, that what you make includes the egg yolk. The yolk is the most essential part of the egg in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, especially the yolks, are loaded with B vitamins. B vitamins can be terrific for raising your mood. This is because they increase the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that tell you how to feel). Consume an egg and feel a lot happier!

Put together a trail mix out of seeds and/or nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and so on are all fantastic for helping to elevate your mood. This is possible because these foods are rich in magnesium which boosts serotonin production. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical that tells your brain how you feel at all times. The more of it in your brain, the more pleasant you’ll feel. Nuts, on top of elevating your mood, can be a great protein source.

Cold water fish are excellent for eating if you wish to combat depression. Cold water fish like tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3 fats. These are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s grey matter. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can seriously boost your mood.

Some grains are truly wonderful for driving away bad moods. Millet, quinoa, barley, etc are great at helping you have a happier mood. These foods fill you up better and that can help elevate your moods as well. Feeling famished can be a real downer! These grains can elevate your mood since it’s easy for your body to digest them. You digest these grains more quickly than other things which can help promote your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel more pleasant, mood wise.

Your mood could truly be helped by green tea. You were just expecting to read that, weren’t you? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid called L-theanine. Research has discovered that this amino acid promotes the production of brain waves. This will better your brain’s concentration while also relaxing the rest of your body. You were already aware that green tea could help you be so much healthier. And now you know green tea can help improve your mood also!

As you can see, you don’t need to eat all that junk food when you want to feel better! Try some of these suggestions instead.
